Connection & Community

We believe scripture teaches us that we link to God and each other best spending intentional time together.

  • Studying God's word
  • Serving our community
  • Sharing our lives

We encourage everyone to join a connection group right away.

We also offer extra connection points called elective studies that we encourage you to join after a connection group.

If you are interested in learning more or joining a group, contact us using the form at the bottom of this page and we will help you get connected.

Current Study

Below, you can access each week's discussion guide. As you study and prepare to share during your connection group, we have also provided bible study resources below to help.

  • It is encouraged that group members complete the exploring scripture section before gathering. If that isn’t possible, review the questions in the general order below during group discussion.

    Warm-up

    • How do you personally define the gospel? Take a moment to reflect on this before sharing your thoughts with the group.

    Exploring Scripture

    Read 1 Corinthians 15

    • Did Paul assume that most of the Corinthians had or had not believed the gospel? What was the gospel message Paul preached?[1]
    • Did Paul try to prove Christ’s resurrection, or did he assume that his readers accepted it? In light of this, why do you think Paul wrote this chapter? [1]
    • What things would be true if Christ had not been raised from the dead? Do you believe Christ has been raised from the dead? Does your church teach that Christ has been raised from the dead? [1]
    • Why is bodily resurrection important? What’s wrong with the idea that believers will not have bodies in eternity? If you do not think that having a resurrected body is exciting or important, why do you think this? Why does Paul not think this?[1]

    Digging In

    • Why is it important that we are resurrected with Christ, and how should it impact our lives?

Lord, help us understand the beauty of your resurrection and what it means for us to live as your good, restored creation. Amen

    Warm-up

    • What gifts do you feel God has given you?
    • What makes you believe God gave you these gifts?
    • How do you currently use these gifts? If not, what is stopping you?

    Exploring Scripture

    Read Acts 2:1-7, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, and Romans 12

    • Why is it important to know about Pentecost, which is written about in Acts chapter two?
    • What stands out about this account of Pentecost?
    • What was going on in the culture of the Corinthians that made Paul's teaching important?
    • Why does Paul spend so much energy trying to point out the equality of spiritual gifts?
    • How does Paul's teaching in Romans 12 compare and contrast to his teaching to the Corinthians?

    Digging In

    • How can we share our gifts given by the spirit as a connection group, congregation, and member of our community?

Lord, help us to appreciate our varied gifts and use them together, focused solely on you. Amen

Bible Study Resources

As we study the Bible, we must converse with other believers to ensure it is the spirit guiding our understanding. Like your conversations with your connection group, engaging other believers' and scholars' knowledge of scripture is helpful. Consider reading commentaries and guides as sitting down for coffee with someone you can't meet in person. You may agree or disagree on some things, but it challenges you to open your heart/mind to where you might have a blind spot, helps you better communicate your understanding, and helps you grow in your walk with Christ. Below, you will find resources we trust as you study God's word in preparation for your connection group.
